Recntly I bought an external USB hard drive. Initially it seemed to work OK
and I already made images of my PC and the notebook.
Problems started when I decided to add the new drive to my PC (which already
had a smaller external USB hard drive). Made sure to assign the non-used
letter S. Sometimes it is recognized, sometimes only after replugging cable.
Suddenly the old external drive creates disk errors (which it never did
before).
When I want to copy files from one external to the other external drive it
seems to work for a while. Then I get error messages: "cannot copy file,
cannot find file", "delayed disk operations failed" etc.

I tried to "safely remove" the new drive in Windows, but I get a message:
"drive cannot be removed". Nice! Well, then I pull the plug and... computer
starts rebooting just like that!

What a shambles. Never had this sort of adventures before. What can be done?
Is it not possible to engage more than one USB hard drive in one computer
system simultaneously???

Windows 2000SP4
Both drives have their own power adaptor
All drives have NTFS formatting
